Great job, guys. Especially Jimmy Spratt, two one goal games back-to-back. Should have a good chance at ccha goalie of the week. Miami only gave up two goals this weekend but their goalies split the games.

Great to hear....nice to get a sweep this weekend.

That might have been the best goaltending game I have seen in the Ice Arena in some time. Jimmy Spratt was superb and the Northern goalie played great too. We showed a ton of character this weekend and hopefully this is a launching pad for our season. Great job guys!

I completely agree, I think everyone was on the edge of their seats the entire game....at least I was. Jimmy & Stewart were playing amazing.

This weekend's games made for the best 2 game series I've seen at BG in awhile. Both games were low scoring but filled with scoring opportunities and power plays. It goes without saying that both goalies were awesome all weekend. Spratt seems to have found the consistency that has eluded him in the past.

It'll be interesting to see how we step up in the next four conference games, all of which are against Notre Dame.

Here comes four losses, or at best three losses and 1 tie. As far as I know we've never beaten them in 12 tries since I've been at BG.

That's funny. When I went to school, Notre Dame hockey was really weak, and a Falcon victory was all but inevitable.

Well, I'd have to look back, but I've been to quite a few ND-BG games the last few years and I don't remember us ever winning one. We've beaten Michigan a few times at home, and we've knocked off Miami and Michigan State too. But Notre Dame has had our number. We can't ever seem to score more than 1-2 goals against them because their defense is so suffocating. They do a lot of clutch/grab/smother nonsense. Most of the time they get away with it too.

If recent history means anything, Jimmy Spratt will have to continue his hot streak this next weekend if BG is to win.

Bringing in Jeff Jackson was what really turned the team around. They were 5-27 the year before he came in and were 32-7 in his second season. That's a pretty ridiculous turnaround.

It's the only way for the bigger, I mean literally bigger, teams to defend against us. BG is built like an East Coast team. Small, fast, and skilled. The rules have been changed many times to open the game up for players like ours. Unfortunately, the memos seem to have stopped before they got to the referees.

Believe it or not, history does predate thee. It wasn't until my senior year that ND pulled their heads out of their asses and started winning. Prior to that, they were an awful, awful club. Jeff Jackson did an amazing job of righting that perpetually listing ship.

As for the present, as they say, there is a reason that the game is played. You sound like Falconboy.

Well, i guess we will just have to see how it goes. Like you on friday, I thought we were dead on the ice but pulled out a thrilling win and ended up sweeping UNMK so you never know. It's hockey, you could get a funny bounce on the ice and catch some breaks, we seemed to do so against UNM. Now UNM is no ND, but still the fact remains.
