Uhhhhhhh, we have a home football game this Friday. A really, really big home football game. I severely doubt anybody is making the trip.

Sorry, not really a football fan. Besides, I can stretch a trip to Notre Dame on Friday into a weekend in Chicago.

I'd def. love to go but I don't have the money to dish out on gas right now plus I have something else to do on Friday. I've been wanting to go to an away game for awhile now but have never decided on one.

Would love to go. I did go to ND last year and had fun but that has to be the worst arena in the CCHA. I am sure their new one will be great.

Uhhhh, who cares? This is the HOCKEY forum. Why do you think I don't go into the football forum? That's right, cause I don't care about football. I care about hockey.

Okay, so by that line of thought, you can't be fans of more than one BG sport at a given time, and you can't mention any other BG sports within another teams message board. That's pretty shortsighted.

If you're not a football fan, fine. I get that you are a devoted hockey fan. But the fact of the matter is that the athletic department is going all out to get people to come out to our final home game on Friday, and that given the choice, I don't see why any BG fan that likes BOTH football and hockey would drive 3 hours to South Bend for hockey when they can just stay home for football.

@ Cincy - just go to the hockey game. Gives me a better chance of walking home with $100, $500, or even $10000. :-D

I think fans should never be pushed to feel they have to root or attend any game. I hate basketball so I choose not to attend those games. I chose to make the trip to Mobile last year. I don't look down on others that didn't attend; it's a choice.

"BG was relentless. It's like they know that a good first pass on the breakout from a defenseman will almost always result in an odd-man rush against them - but they go in anyway and dare you to make that pass. All three of their goals were just grit and effort. That's a team any fan can be proud to support...they give all they've got."

Believe it or not, some of us who like both, prefer hockey over football. If we could both be off tomorrow afternoon and other commitments didn't factor in, FF and I would probably head to SB tomorrow as opposed to the football game, although we rarely miss a home football game.

So, I sincerely doubt that you're correct in your assumption that you severely doubt that anyone is going to South Bend tomorrow.

I wish I could go to South Bend but I won't be there. I don't have a ride :( But I'll be at the football game since I'm already here, though it's going to be stinkin' cold. I always prefer hockey to football and will be driving back down here from Toledo to go to the hockey game instead of the BG vs UT football game that same day. But that's just me

Well, I don't severely doubt it anymore. I'm a little surprised though. The expected weather on Friday night evidently is playing into the decision for some people inside this thread.

Just for the record, if BG hockey was home and football was away, unless if it was BG/Toledo or the MAC Championship Game, I'd stay home too. Saves the cash.

@ Altoid - I'm not even sure that the BG/UT football game conflicts with the BG/Minnesota State hockey game. BG/UT starts at 3:30, and the hockey game is a 7pm start, unless they changed it for some reason. You might not even have to pick between them, unless of course you don't want to give UT any of your money in which case I wouldn't blame you. :-D
