Not mentioned was that on his way out the door hit him in the ass and he coughed up the puck.

It sucks to hear that. Hopefully everything works out for him, if not at BG then somewhere else. I wonder if the school will still let him keep whatever scholarship money he is being given for this year.

Well, seeing as he left for "academic reasons" its safe to assume his chance for scholarship $ is ZERO.

Don't you think it's strange for a 24 year old Married 5th year Senior former Captain to have "academic problems" after all of this time? It's just food for thought. I have no further info to share, so don't bother asking, but I just think that there must be more to this story.

If I'm not mistaken, he graduated at the end of last season. I know when I got to be 24, I had "academic problems" at school and left myself. So I guess I don't really think it's all that strange.

If he completed his undergrad last year it certainly is understandable that he was tired of being a student and wanted to get on with his life. There are certainly enough minor leagues now that he could catch on somewhere if he still wants to play and get paid for it.

I hope everything goes well for him.

Nick Bailen has had 5 points in 8 games since Maxwell left and now leads all Falcon defensemen in scoring.

Bailen is underrated, he is a great addition to BG! He has good defensive skills, which will only get better in the seasons to come. He is hard hitting and physical and has offensive skills. He can and has played roles as a defensive defenseman but can also be utilized as an offensive defenseman when needed.

I like Bailen a lot. Good two-way D-man.

Bailen is a very offensive minded D man, he is very solid and very underrated I believe he will be the next future star of the falcons the next couple of years, it just hurts not to have any D men sitting out because if one guy goes down, we have no one to go to, all our d men our playing night in night out. lets just pray that doesnt happen
