Friday night at the Ice Arena

Post by transfer2BGSU »

Athletic band sounds good.

Nice turnout in Section E.

We've got a feature skater out there right now.

Where is everybody else?

Nice size crowd now

Great save by Spratt - the Snowangel save.

Great effort this evening. Empty net goals stink!

Well, it was a game effort, but same old same old for BG against ND. 0-14-1

great effort by the icers tonight. had a ton of chances early on in the first and second period to get some goals. We're just having a hard time finishing off plays. getting a lot of good penetration in front of the net but just cant get a stick on it and put it home. Ver encouraged by what I saw tonight. ND is just an absolute juggernaut.

I'm no hockey guru, but our powerplay looked awful. I swear that ND had more shots on goal than we did when we had the man advantage.

That being said, all-in-all, it was a nice effort by our guys against the best team in the land. It was an entertaining game to watch. Hopefully, we can get a "W" tomorrow.

Great physical game, we just don't have the depth of talent to beat ND. Jimmy played well after the first goal. Nice to see Schmidt get a goal. Could've been very different had Petruska not hit the cross-bar in the third and tied it up.

I really wish we had instant replay, that sure looked like a goal to me.

Petruska's shot WAS the subject of a video review on the first play stopage after the shot, and was declared 'no goal'. I had a real good view of the shot, and believe the 'no goal' call was correct. The shot missed by a fraction of an inch, as it clearly redirected downward and out after hitting the crossbar.

Fine effort by our guys, and great energy from the crowd. Nice to have a full band. I'm dismayed by the decision to pull Spratt so early (1:48 left) and us on PP...but I guess Pooch may have been worried that it might be the only chance we had to get a faceoff in their zone.
