CCHA First Round Games

Post by WhoDeyBG »

Well, we are traveling to Ohio State. Games will be played at the old OSU Ice Rink, as Value City Arena is booked. This happened as well for OSU in 2007 when they hosted NMU. The Wildcats swept the Bucks that year. Let's hope it's a trend in that building. Tickets will be tough to get, as capacity is somewhere just over 1,000.

Good. Save time, money and energy with the trip to Alaska, and beating the Schmucks may just make a sour season a little sunnier.

R u kidding me! the club team just played there a few weeks ago, it's smaller than my high school rink! The probably did that on purpose so there's not more BG fans than OSU fans in Value City!

What is the best way to get tickets? Especially since the arena is so small?

That rink makes the BG Ice Arena look like Nationwide Arena. I remember back when I played there in peewee's our locker room was some makeshift room in the basement. With that being said, maybe the move can negate some of the home ice advantage for OSU.

Oh yeah it will, I'd be upset if I was an OSU coach, player or fan too. Thats far from an NCAA DI arena. It works for the women's and club teams but It wouldn't be good for a regular season game much less a playoff game.

BG should complain to the CCHA and NCAA and get the series moved to a suitable (but old) arena like BGSU Ice Arena lol ;)

OSU would be better served playing at the Dispatch IceHaus. Its a better overall facility with more seating I believe. (1500 - 750 fixed, 750 SRO)

The Schott is booked throughout March...

We always called it "The Dink"

GO FALCONS!!
SWEEP THE SCHMUCKS!!!!!
"Regarding BGSU, I would think their biggest strength is that they never give up, They never slow down and they battle hard even after the other team scores. We have to be on our game and never, ever take the foot off the gas for a second."

"BG was relentless. It's like they know that a good first pass on the breakout from a defenseman will almost always result in an odd-man rush against them - but they go in anyway and dare you to make that pass. All three of their goals were just grit and effort. That's a team any fan can be proud to support...they give all they've got."

It's in one of the corners of the lot next to St. John Arena.

The Dink is attached to St. John Arena on the East side I believe. French Field House is attached to the arena on the West side. Though I may have my directions confused.

In a letter to the editor in this Week's Dispatch... BG's arena was preferred by OSU fans than the Schott...

I just got 2 for Saturday night. If you're going to get some, you need to hurry. OSU only gave us 200 total. 60 for players/coaches and 140 to be sold to season ticket holders first. Speed is of the essance on these. Call the ticket office...soon! They are all general admission and will-call pick-up.

ROLL ALONG!!!!

I got one for Friday and four for Saturday. If anyone has a spare one for Saturday I'd appreciate it. I wanted to get 5 for Saturday but was limited to four. I'd be glad to go to pick it up and pay you. I work on campus in 101 University Hall if that helps.
