SEND the e-mails to him now. I have also e-mailed the radio station in Ottawa, Canada where Garry galley works part time. It's the Team 1200
in Ottawa. Just e-mail the PD that you want to contact galley about BG hockey and to pass it on to him. We have to crank up our work people.
GET JACK VIVIAN INVOLVED !!

I posted this in the other thread yesterday.
Has anyone thought about contacting Jack Vivian? Last I knew he was running JRV consulting. He is basically the founder of the program as well as Miami's program. The guy has probably forgotten more about arena construction and management than most of our current administrators will ever know. He also basically, along with Red, revived Michigan's program in the early 90's. He was the guy that took over running Yost arena when it was a dump and losing money and turned it around by using student interns and grad students to staff and manage the place. He got the renovations to Yost passed and completed under budget. I should know, I was one of those interns. He was also instrumental in getting the USNDP into Ann Arbor, which basically Red then turned into a UM farm/feeder system. It amazes me that this Unversity has access to people like this and instead of calling on them for help and ideas, would rather just cut the program. Well that's the freaking easy way and really solves nothing in the long run. Do they cut football next year after it loses money?

Guys like Jack, Paul Olscamp, Jack Gregory, Jim Ruehl, Ron Mason and Jerry York they never looked for easy ways out. They looked for ways to put the program on top....and they succeeded, too bad those that were left to care for it have let all their hard work go down the drain.

From what I have heard through some BG alum connections, he has heard and is not the least bit surprised. There have not been any people in the Admin at BG that actually know how to run a good hockey facility and program in a very long time. He didn't leave BG under the best terms as I recall. He left in the early 90 with a few issues with the people running the HPHeR dept that oversaw Sport Management. Basically he knew what he was talking about and had real world experience and they didn't and feathers got ruffled. So he went up to UM. No idea how good his relationship with BG is now. I can try to find out.

We have to find out ! We have to push for better people to run the arena
and not allow for shallow excuses from overpaid / clueless administraters.
They want to save their behinds so they'll throw this program and others under the bus. They are all in CYA mode right now.

Yesterday, Dave Horger, on, 88.1's morning news show, was reporting that there was nothing new to report regarding the hockey program, then mentioned that Jack Vivian was "getting involved." He gave no other details other than this one comment, but it was THE BEST news I'd heard in days!!

They are aware and engaged about this. They are working behind the scenes trying to find out what is needed to keep the program going. However, they want assurances that the University will step up and that this is a beginning of a turn around in University support for both the rink and the program. BG hockey coaches salaries and travel budget for recruiting is said to be the worst in the CCHA.

Everyone that has sent an e-mail or made a phone call to Dr. Cartwright and AD Greg Christopher needs to do it again and urge them to talk with Jack Vivian before ANY decisions are made. Those that haven't done either yet, need to do so now and urge the same thing. If you have a heart problem you see a cardiologist. If you have a ice rink problem, it looks like you see Jack Vivian!!!! HELLO!?!?!

Last I knew Kruzich was working for Polar Ice Peoria out here in the Phoenix area. I saw him last summer as he was the goalie instructor at a summer hockey camp my 12 year old son attended. My son is not a goalie, but a defenseman, however Kruzer saw his BG hockey camp jersey he was wearing and of course pulled him aside. I talked to him a little after the camp one day, still a super nice guy. His bad legs have really taken a lot out of him though.

Anyway, I looked on their website and I don't see any mention of him. I'll dig a little harder, but I'm sure he knows. He stills talks to all the 84' guys every week from what he has said.
