I am looking for 1-2 carloads of volunteers to go to Joe Louis Arena for Friday's CCHA semi-finals. Mission: get more letters, e-mails and phone calls in support of BG Hockey directed to the BGSU administration.

Volunteers need to be prepared to:

1. Leave from BG no later than 2pm Friday
2. Buy their own game ticket.
3. Wear ORANGE!
4. Be a COMMITED and POSITIVE ambasador of BGSU
5. Suck up to arrogant Michigan fans

Yes, I'm serious.
I'm going, and hope I'm not alone.

This is a great idea. However, you hit the nail on the head when you said
Be a COMMITED and POSITIVE ambassador of BGSU
That is what is key and what has more often than not been missing from this forum for the past few weeks. Calling the AD and administration vulgar names will hurt our cause more than help it. I cannot understand why people on here want to verbally kick the one person making the decision in the nuts! Any and all call/e-mails/letters/etc. MUST be absolutely supportive of the program and sincere in helping find a solution to department funding. We have a chance here to help the entire department begin to get to solid financial footing. If we can get a successful model that makes hockey absolutely self sufficient then maybe it can work for basketball, or football, or any other sport. We have a great opportunity and need to be really careful not to piss is down our legs! With that said, lets get some positive support from the CCHA!!!!!

I'm sorry but I don't think anyone has been vulgar or calling names.

And I really don't believe that what someone might vent on this thread

is what they would e-mail or write to someone. We all know what we have

to do. Has everyone called the AD and e-mailed recently ?? I know I have

and I have contacted a number of ex-players to get the word out and will

continue to do so. Like the gentleman said about giving money and the

posted donation updates. Put up or......The time is NOW !!

Are you serious? There have been MANY times someone has called for the AD or President to resign. That is counter productive! And as far as venting on this board, do you really think our comments are not being read by the department? I know for a FACT the department keeps an eye on us in here. So maybe "venting" on a public message board is not the brightest idea! I am not subject to the inner workings of the "save hockey" coalition but I would like to see a more focused effort on getting a seat at the table. That is what we need. If they won't talk with us for whatever reason, comments made here included, then how do we expect to help the program? I'm just asking everyone to use our heads a little more.

No one seemed to put Ribeau's head on the chopping block for trying to cut hockey when he first came, Cartwright must be downright terrified

Asking for someone to resign because their value set is way off base is not at all like being vulgar. I do feel the president should resign, she not operating in the best interest of the University or the Alumni at this point.

I started this thread for a specific purpose...to look for others to join me at JLA Friday. Now you guys are clogging it up with spitting contests about who called who what nasty name. If you want to rant and rave like a bunch of pre-schoolers who are so wired on MountainDew and M&M's that they missed their afternoon naps, do it somewhere else. God knows, there's plenty of threads dedicated to Falcons determined to 'eat their own'
