Falcon Hockey Problem : Big donors not local

The reason the hockey program is a target is because all of the "very Big"
money donors are not local and don't have the ear of the U and AD and
admin. They are being shut out because they're "outsiders" and apparently
their money, passion, prestige and accomplishments don't matter. If you
don't think this is true then why didn't this "problem" surface earlier. Look
at how the U did back flips for football and basketball. I too gave to
those causes and to the U in general. They are finding out now the anger
from all of us "out of town" hockey supporters and the pressure we will
put on the U. This whole "money" issue is a farce. We need the local
program supporters to go all out while we do so from out of town. In fact
if we all have to be there to show our support in person I can guarantee
we will be there.

Mooney- Don't worry...the locals are getting organized. It just takes a few days to stop being shell shocked and to start acting with more than just e-mail. You will be hearing in just a few short days what we locals have come up with, I promise! I wish you and others could see how cool the arena looks plastered with signatures from just a few short hours of the BGYHA acting!
Keep up the great work and we'll keep it up on this end!
GO FALCONS!

murphdogg- I don't have any pictures, but I'll take my camera out to the arena tomorrow and take some. I forgot my camera on Saturday.
I posted on Saturday, but I'll post it again...anyone who wants their name on a sign that hasn't already contacted me, feel free to PM me.
GO FALCONS!

A Big local sponsor would probably be the best. A few smaller local sponsors would also work. Signs that businesses "Support Falcon Hockey" and other similar phrases are popping up everyday in BG, but until someone hands over some $$$, it's still possible to cut the program.

As we get organized you will recieve a notice that says please go to :
SaveBGHockey.org or .com ( .org is not set up yet)
you will be asked to make a $$ pledge and return.
when we have an amount of pledge $$, we can go talk turkey to the Aminisrtation.
We are a while away from being ready, sorry I do not know website construction.
No money will be turned over to "those people" until some of "our people" are happy with the guarantees that "they" put forth.

For the record, Bob Sebo is from Salem, which is near Youngstown, and Kerm Stroh is from Wapakaneta (sp), which is an hour or so south of BG. I wouldn't exactly call either one local. But I will say that both have been involved as big time donors, trustees, and friends of the university. Both attend tons of events. Both were at each basketball game, men and women, this past weekend in Cleveland.

No offense, but compared to the hockey supporters strewn across at least
two countries they are "local". One hour is local to me. I know who they are
and what they have done !!! The comparison isn't close.
