No doubt...NATIONAL CHAMPIONS. It was two years before I got to BG...just wish I would have been a student in 84.

The best moment in BG sports history....

Yes it was great!!! Also, to have it happen in the longest NCAA Championship game (97:11) even made it more exciting. Way to go '84 team!!!! It also made up for the the NCAA selection committee leaving the '83 team out of the playoffs the year before.

I have the autographed team photo from the night they won it, which I got during the 20th aniversary celebration in 2004 when everyone was back in town. I'm sure everyone else has one too. Probably my favorite piece of BGSU sports memorabilia.

I remember that '83 team started the season something like 0-8-1 and then went on an incredible run and won the CCHA regular season title before losing the CCHA tournament championship game in OT to Ron Scott and Michigan State. Ironically, earlier that evening the BG basketball team lost in the MAC tourney finals at Anderson Arena to Ohio U. Talk about a heartbreaking day. But 1984 more than made up for it.

83 - Not a bad year for BG sports, though. Plenty of titles to go around
