A strong belief that what once was can and will surely will be the pride of BGSU again. This pride coupled with your cooperative governance, overwhelming generosity, and belief in team and the creativity of those great minds that have come together are to be commended.
To say the champagne is on ice, just is not fitting especially when the beer is always kept cold.
Falcon Hockey is Pride.
"PRIDE
a: inordinate self-esteem b: a reasonable or justifiable self-respect c: delight or elation arising from some act, possession, or relationship"
The Puck drops in 75 days for the Second Coming...do you have your season tickets?

Mr. Christopher got a vote of confidence regarding funding for the future of the hockey program. We're not even close to being out of the woods but I think we finally know that the AD understands there is people willing to step up if they'll listen.

There "are" people too.
I'm waiting for a link, or a long-form description. Trustees? Research report?

According to Dr. Cartwright, we should hear something definite at the end of August when the feasibility study (to gage the fundraising interest) is done. That is what she told the alumni players who were here for the HOGO on Saturday. She also mentioned that SHE paid for that study to be done. I found that information very encouraging!!

I was afraid you were going to say "she paid" for the study, so she could say she donated, then cut hockey!

Hang on...we're not out of the woods yet....not by a long shot, BUT.....if the feasibility study comes back favorable (which it SHOULD, ...IF they are talking with the RIGHT people), then the University SHOULD come out and publicly commit to the program and the renovation of the ice arena. A public commitment will give the alumni players and fans the confidence to donate the money needed to save the program and fix the rink!! ....keep up the faith and let's hope this all turns out the way we want!! I'm cautiously optimistic.

It's not "if" hockey is saved. It's determining which of the three renovation proposals that Mr. Vivian gave in his report that the University, with donors help, can be afforded. I don't think it will be the cheapest one either.

Alright!

It's not every day that a university president shells out that kind of money out of pocket for such a study. Can we PLEASE finally put to rest this speculation that Cartwright has been scheming since day one to cut BG Hockey once results are announced?

Tell me this, did it come out of her pocket or one of her budget accounts? BIG difference.

If I recall correctly...and we all know I'm OLD and the memory is going

...but I am pretty sure she said something like: "...the study that I paid for..." I just know that when I heard her say that, it REALLY caught my attention!! As I said before, I found that VERY encouraging!! As much as I don't want the summer to end....the end of that study can't come soon enough!!!

That she was there at all, would be something I take to be a good sign. She didn't have to be there, and if she wanted to send passive-aggressive ideas that the program was doomed, staying home would have done that.
But a little paranoia is a good thing.
