New assistant coach

Post by ah55 »

Cansius University's Mike Mankowski is coming to BG to be assistant coach/recruiting coordinator

As nice as the press box was, I'm loving being able to root for the Falcons now. Too bad I have to do so from Illinois.

He is a great hire. Great guy and will be a great recruiter. He's from around here and knows the Falcon hockey history.

“Coach Mankowski is a very dedicated coach and outstanding person,” said Canisius head coach Dave Smith. “He has been a valuable member of the Canisius College community and our hockey program. Mike has been a huge part of the growth of Canisius College hockey. We wish the Mankowski family all the best at Bowling Green.”
Seems like a very good hire. Thought it was interesting who the current head coach at Canisius is.

Welcome to BG!!!
"Regarding BGSU, I would think their biggest strength is that they never give up, They never slow down and they battle hard even after the other team scores. We have to be on our game and never, ever take the foot off the gas for a second."

"BG was relentless. It's like they know that a good first pass on the breakout from a defenseman will almost always result in an odd-man rush against them - but they go in anyway and dare you to make that pass. All three of their goals were just grit and effort. That's a team any fan can be proud to support...they give all they've got."

He's practically a "townie" but I'm still going to have to give him a hard time about graduating from that school up north!! :-D

Again, Welcome to BG, Mike! You're going to LOVE it here!!
