The First Hockey Vlog: An Interview With Coach Williams

Post by BGDrew »

Thanks to the athletic department I'm going to be interviewing Coach Williams on Monday. Since this is AZZ's vlog I want questions from you! I'll take the best questions and have Coach try to answer them Monday.

However, there's a few topics that he can't talk about and I won't bring up:
-The future of the program
-Future recruits who haven't officially signed a LOI
-The "interim" tag
-Off the ice issues

Other than that, let's hear some good ones!

Which returning players does he see taking a bigger role this year?

Which freshman should we expect to see big things from?

When it comes to offensive zone what areas to expect this team to accelorate at, and where do really need to shore things up?

We have a strong group of defenders, one of the bigger groups in size in a long a time, with average defender weight of over 195lbs are we going to play a more physical game?

What can we expect from the power play? It has been disappointing (to say the least) the last few years.

Will the goalie position be a wide open competition or is it Eno's job to lose?

Maybe it's just me, but I find myself amused by the fact that the freshman goalie is a year older than the junior.

Just a slight change of plans. Monday is actually going to be a press conference so I'll have video of that. I should still be able to ask a good deal of questions and will hopefully get something set up for a face-to-face in the future. Keep bringing the questions, there's been some really good ones so far!

Unfortunately there won't be a video preview this week. I've been sick all week and the past 2 days put me down pretty badly. I should be back Monday with the presser.

Hope you're feeling better soon!!! Are you too sick to make it to the game tomorrow?
"Regarding BGSU, I would think their biggest strength is that they never give up, They never slow down and they battle hard even after the other team scores. We have to be on our game and never, ever take the foot off the gas for a second."

"BG was relentless. It's like they know that a good first pass on the breakout from a defenseman will almost always result in an odd-man rush against them - but they go in anyway and dare you to make that pass. All three of their goals were just grit and effort. That's a team any fan can be proud to support...they give all they've got."

Yeah, I know what that is....the older I get, the more control I have over that disease. :-D

Drew, if you ever need any help with this or someone to fill in (if you are sick), I have the credentials, and I'll be at almost every hockey game so let me know. I'm a video guy too. Would love to help you out.

I'll let you know the next time my body fights against me.

One of these weekends we'll talk about some ideas we both have. I'm just a guy with a camera, so I'm guessing you're WAY more qualified than I am!
