Petruska had a goal for BG and Page scored on the PP with :02 left to cut the lead to 3-2. Eno had 32 saves in goal.

Well we got manhandled on shots but managed to keep it close. A loss is a loss but I think we did alright considering the guys that we were missing. Hopefully Eno can keep that type of form for the rest of the season; 32 saves on 35 shots isn't too shabby.

Yes we lost, but I did find some very encouraging things from this game:
1.) Eno played well; had some really B!G saves!!
2.) Despite going down 3-1 and being severely outshot, they did NOT give up!! They kept working hard and scored a goal at the very end of the game. This is HUGE for the team's attitude and confidence going into tomorrow's game!!

More positives:

The Penalty Kill was a perfect 7-7
We scored a power play goal (rare last season)
We scored with the extra attacker instead of giving up the ENG (even rarer last season)

That said we can't afford to take 4 penalties when trying to come back in the third.

You mean "rare during the Pooch era," right? So, I'm guessing we abandoned the typical "Dump and Chase" Power Play? Awesome!

I agree! I obviously wasn't at the game, but it sounded like they battled hard being severely out-manned. I am so proud of this team! I've waited a LONG time to be able to say that. There are so many positives from this game and the negatives can be fixed. Page scoring a goal with .02 left says SO much about how this team is different than in recent years. They NEVER gave up. The Mavericks had better be ready for the Falcons tonight. Coach Razor promised at the kick off event that this team and this coaching staff wouldn't be outworked by anyone and that his goal was to make the fans PROUD of the team and program, if anyone didn't believe him, they were proven wrong last night.

Always proud to be a Falcon Hockey fan...but more so today!
GO FALCONS!
Erika
