from The Ottawa Citizen...
"GALLEY COOKING: Wyatt Galley is following in his dad’s footsteps. On Thursday night, while Garry Galley was doing the color analysis for Sportsnet of the Senators home opener, son Wyatt firmed up a commitment to play for Bowling Green State University, the senior Galley’s alma mater. Galley went on to a 17-year NHL career as a defenceman. Wyatt, 18, has a 6-2 record with a 2.39 goals-against average and .926 save percentage with the CJHL’s Nepean Raiders."

This is great news!

Wyatt was one of the top goalies in his league last year as a 17 old playing against 18-20 year olds and he's doing the same thing this year. I wonder if they'll try to get him into the USHL next year to see some higher level competition.

Interesting stat tidbits on Wyatt Galley:

He is currently 5th in his league in both GAA and Saves Percentage.

He will turn 18 in December.

The four goalies above him in GAA either just turned 20 in Aug/Sept or will turn 21 in Feb/March.

Not only are you getting a good hockey player but you're carrying on the tradition of the Falcon family.

This commitment is absolutely tremendous. To get Wyatt is great for BG hockey and BGSU. Daughter Shaylynn is a wonderful young woman and doing a great job here at BG representing the family at this time. The Galleys are pure BGSU all the way!

Very, very impressive.

Go Falcons!

Garry has always spoken highly of BGSU when he does Ottawa games, and back when he did games for CBC. He's truly a special alumni and that his kids have chosen to attend BG as well speaks volumes for the love and passion he feels for this school.

I believe it was it was two years ago where Wyatt was listed at the 5th best goalie in his birth year in canada. Im looking for the article, I hope I did not throw it away, but it is possible.
