It wasn't asked, to be honest. The same topic has come up week after week and there hasn't really been a change in philosophies. At this point I think we need to just expect to give up a ton of shots.

Hopefully Shea can seal off some of those lanes to the goalie.

Don't be over impressed by Ferris' 5-3-0 record. Their five wins have come against Canisius (split series), Connecticut (sweep) and Robert Morris (sweep). They got swept up in Alaska last week.

Interesting roster dynamics going on as well: 5 of 7 defensemen are over 6 feet tall but only 4 forwards are over 6 feet.
I love people who can laugh at themselves. It saves me the effort.

Alaska's goalie is an absolute brick wall so far this year:
Scott Greenham 5-0-1, SV%:.949 GAA: 1.14 with a shutout against Meechigan.

USCHO put it best: those are Ryan Miller-like numbers.

Thanks as always for the great pre-series information.

This week's Inside the CCHA radio show also gave Alaska's goalie some props. That's going to be a tough series next weekend!

Thank goodness they come to BG and we don't have to go out there...I think.

What is it with Alaska that they always seem to recruit these amazing goalies. Chad Johnson was an absolute stud last year there.

I'm thinking we might have a great goalie of our own in the making at BG in Hammond though. :supz:

Not to take away from their goalies' talent but of their 8 shutouts last year 6 were at home where they play on olympic size ice which is something opposing teams have to adjust their style of play for on top of the jet lag from having had to fly up there. Alaska also plays a very trap-py, defense first style of play that limits opponents scoring chances.

That said, Johnson last year and Greenham this year do know how to get the job done.

Losing 3-1....gave up 3 PP goals in less than 5 minutes....need to stay out of the freakin' penalty box!!!!

COME ON GUYS....SETTLE DOWN!!!
"Regarding BGSU, I would think their biggest strength is that they never give up, They never slow down and they battle hard even after the other team scores. We have to be on our game and never, ever take the foot off the gas for a second."
~~USCHO Poster
"BG was relentless. It's like they know that a good first pass on the breakout from a defenseman will almost always result in an odd-man rush against them - but they go in anyway and dare you to make that pass. All three of their goals were just grit and effort. That's a team any fan can be proud to support...they give all they've got."

4-1 on a turnover by Page in his own zone.

Seniors can't be taking these kind of penalties. No excuse.
