CCHA Standings and Shootout Implications You Might Not Know About
• Bonus standings point awarded if a player's goal gets 20,000 views on YouTube before noon on Monday.
• The arena-designated Fan of the Game will be given the opportunity to play goalie in the shootout for either team. It is, after all, for the fans first.
• The league reserves the right to amend or confirm standings points and shootout procedures based on our officials' performance, suggested NCAA protocol, a handful of Hockey East games in the 1994-95 and 1995-96 seasons, and the likelihood of Michigan and Michigan State making it to Joe Louis Arena for the league's championship weekend.
• While players in the penalty box at the end of overtime are ineligible, the winner of the 50/50 raffle is welcome to participate.
• Valentine's Day Bonus: Any road team that wins in regulation on the weekend of Feb. 12-13, 2010 will be awarded five points in the standings. Home teams that win in regulation will receive a box of chocolates.
• Coaches select the first five shooters. If tied after that, it's the zamboni driver's call.
• If three consecutive shooters are successful in their attempts, all fans in attendance can redeem their ticket stub for a free box of popcorn at the next home game.
• Alabama-Huntsville is ineligible.
