Goal horn

Post by MACMAN »

We had some discussion about our goal horn a while back. I continued to think about it and I did a small personal project. Some time and fun and I came up with a plan that if used in connection with our sound system now and then the new one, is what I believe is more than acceptable, is more in your face than little portable air system and few horns and allows for more flexibility.
By experimentation with various horn frequency's, I found some that are well suited to audio system repeatability, good tone and resonance...and higher listening levels do not distort. I then coupled the various horns with music much like what you would hear at a pro game and have included a CBJ sampling as well...last on the recording. Give them a listen and tell me what you think. I think with the flexibility of horn and audio we would be in more advantageous position to develop some fun, creative and unique horn blows.

if you can try and out put these on your home system. Surprising how good they sound on the cpu too...

I'm all for a creative horn blow. :-D
I love people who can laugh at themselves. It saves me the effort.

CBJ has one of the cooler goal horns because of the cannon. I could do without the Rock and Roll Pt. 2 rip-off.

I appreciate the guy who did the air horn on top of the skate shop but there's no point in a goal horn if no one can hear it. Maybe we could offer a new airhorn as an unofficial A-Z-Z donation project.

K5LA, some 1" pipe and a good sized air compressor and I'll blow the roof off the building. Probably cost about $3000.

When I looked into the NHL horns, While they all have multiple horn systems that point in multiple directions, the sound from those even supplemented by the audio system, it surprised the heck out of me considering how loud a ships whistle is, but then again there is little that is surprising anymore, everything is a science.
