Improvements Here and There

Post by Falcon Fanatic »

I was at the ice arena yesterday and saw that they removed the metal awning cover over the sidewalk around the rink! YEA!!!! Since someone ran their car into it and damaged a section of it, I guess it was decided to get rid of it completely. They still have the awnings over the doorways, but I was told they will go when they can get something to replace it. They are also going to try and "clean up" the brick. Nasty stains running down the sides of it! Not sure how easy that will be to get rid of those, though! And the new landscaping around the building looks fantastic!! Huge improvement over those ugly overgrown bushes that were there for way, WAY too long!!

Falcon Hockey is gonna rock the rink this year, mark my words!!!!

"Regarding BGSU, I would think their biggest strength is that they never give up, They never slow down and they battle hard even after the other team scores. We have to be on our game and never, ever take the foot off the gas for a second."

"BG was relentless. It's like they know that a good first pass on the breakout from a defenseman will almost always result in an odd-man rush against them - but they go in anyway and dare you to make that pass. All three of their goals were just grit and effort. That's a team any fan can be proud to support...they give all they've got."

Fanatic, I love these eye witness reports! Small matters such as these add up to a better building and a better experience for fans and players. I agree; Coach Paluch is doing the right things to put us back near the top. This young coach will be one of the best and, in the very "small" world of D 1 hockey, he might just stay around to take us to the NCAA tourney.

I guess first off, let's just win that CCHA tourney.

Go Falcons!

FF1: I would be THRILLED to win the CCHA Tourney!! I am taking baby steps, however and planning on HOME ice for the playoffs to start with, then...to the Joe...and onward from there!!! There is NO DOUBT in my mind that we WILL be in the NCAA tourney in a very short amount of time!!!

Keep in mind that Buddy Powers is in charge of the Ice Arena now and I believe it was HIS doing that made the decision to get the UGLY awnings down. I know he will do an AWESOME job running that arena!!!
