Don't know if any of you caught this in yesterday's Toledo Blade, but columnist Dave Hackenberg was responding to questions from readers on a variety of topics:

“You infer that the MAC, as a mid-major basketball disappointment, is overextending itself with Division I-A football, but you forgot that Miami, Western Michigan, and Bowling Green are supporting Division I hockey too.” – Jim.

"I did overlook that aspect, although including BG may be a stretch." - Hack.

And that is why I don't get the Blade!!! Moron writers.

Hack is not a fan of BGSU hockey. Last year when we were going through all this crap, I e-mailed him and asked why he was not covering it. He basically said we should let hockey die and it was not worth covering. Don't pay any attention to him. The Blade's circulation numbers are going through the floor. Like I said before, we are going to be good again. You can take that to the bank.

HAck is a fools fool. The guys knows as much about sports, especially college sports as he is told and reads from others.
There is a reason he works at the blade, a its in Toledo, and B no one of measure reads it.

Humm, I didn't take that as a slam against BG hockey ... more as jab at the U. for failing to support/reinvest. That said, you can't find a BG hockey score in the Blade.

and yet when when ever BG is on top in something, they are more than happy to show up, like back in the day with tv trucks in the ice rink.
Eff um. I think it would be a smart play for BG to lure one of the boring media outlets in Toledo to BG and cover BG, Findlay, Perrysburg etc...honestly. LEts face it, Toledo is dead...did you see how little news play the gange fights at the mall gets...the mall is a dangerous place, not a place anyone sensible person should go, for anything, esp when there are better and safer places with in the same drive...Franklin park is worse than SW ever was.
