I have been to probably over 30 arena's (college & professional) and I don't ever recall seeing a breakfast sandwich at the concession stand.

I guess the days of getting my Hot Cocoa from the machine at the ice arena will soon be over. No more watching the cup drop and then the machine whip its choc syrup with hot water.

This is exciting news. As far as the lighting, I've always thought there was more candlepower in my barn than on the BG ice. Yost is an ancient facility, but the ice sparkles. Florescent strip lights just don't make it for hockey. I hope they do something with the area above the Zamboni room and skate shop too. Took friends to a game once and the fellow looked up there and said "What's that, the campus dump?". That area has always bugged me, doesn't leave a good impression and can be put to much better purposes ... a couple of suites perhaps?

Panara? ...doubt if they will ever be back, unless they get smart and GET RID OF GLADIEUX FOODS!!!

I believe that it has been discussed that they would like to do something with that area above the skate shop and zamboni room. What that will be, depends on the amount of money raised!

Can we start by taking down all the trash and cleaning the area up? I'll agree, that's an embarrassment.

* Take down the Nebraska-Omaha banner.
* Have the remaining flags & banners dry cleaned.
* Repair all the broken bricks along the baseboards at the north end of the concourse.
* Catch the knuckleheads who keep shooting pucks at the walls in that area, issue a strong warning, then have them banned from the building if they continue.
* Knock down the cobwebs (there's one in the SW corner that's as big as a Buick)
* Dust all the light fixtures that are remaining.
* 1 man with a power-washer and a couple gallons of clorox for one full day in each of the restrooms.
* Repair the drinking fountains (some of which have not worked for 15 years). Those that can't be fixed should be removed.
* Once the water leaks are stopped (whether from the roof or from condensation), scrub, patch and paint.

These aren't renovations, just routine maintenance and housekeeping...sadly neglected for MANY years.
