Favorite Ice Arena Memory -

Watching the BG power play and Rob Blake slapping the puck from just inside the blue line towards the goal. He had some power behind those slapshots.

One of my favorite moments of BG hockey was watching Rob Blake play. He was amazing with that slapshot. Man, it seems like he has been in the pros forever!

One of my favorite Rob Blake memories is being at practice one day. Most of the team had left the ice. He lined up a bunch of pucks to the right of the net just about where the top of the face off circle was. He then began rapid shooting them, one after another, at the boards to the right of the net. He wound up for a full slapshot swing each time. The noise was absolutely deafening, especially since I was standing in Section E with him right in front of me!! I swear my ears were ringing for an hour!!!
"Regarding BGSU, I would think their biggest strength is that they never give up, They never slow down and they battle hard even after the other team scores. We have to be on our game and never, ever take the foot off the gas for a second."

"BG was relentless. It's like they know that a good first pass on the breakout from a defenseman will almost always result in an odd-man rush against them - but they go in anyway and dare you to make that pass. All three of their goals were just grit and effort. That's a team any fan can be proud to support...they give all they've got."

Just saw this. Blake was my favorite player when I was at BG. Such a cutie. Seriously though, how great is that to have had such an awesome career & get to retire with a big fat NHL pension? While I get to practice law for the next 25+ years, Rob & his family will be hanging at the beach and enjoying life. Congrats on an awesome career!
