City hockey team to unveil name
Dennis Williams
Amarillo's new team in the North American Hockey League will introduce its coach and reveal its name, colors, logo and jersey during a news conference at 1:30 p.m. Friday at the Amarillo Civic Center.
The coach will be Dennis Williams, who was interim head coach at Bowling Green State University in 2009-10. Williams was the program's third head coach in three seasons as the Falcons went 5-25-6 in the Central Collegiate Hockey Association.
Williams also was an assistant at BGSU (2008-09) and Alabama-Huntsville (2007-08). As the head coach at Division III Neumann College (2003-06), Williams led the Knights to a top-five national ranking and a 17-5-5 mark.
Williams is a native of Stratford, Ontario, and played at BGSU from 1997-2001.
