Scored two in the third to make it interesting but lost 4-3. Hopefully we can break the Saturday curse tomorrow.

I thought it was a pretty fun game last night. Miami is just really deep. Hopefully the team will give a better showing tonight than past Saturdays. Hammond is due to have a great game, if he does, we have a chance.

Ugly, ugly performance. We took some steps back this weekend.

Here's Bergeron's presser:

Actually, I thought the COMPETITION level from the boys was better last night than Friday night. Without J-S-T and Ruel, a couple of young guys got their chance against a highly skilled and bigger Miami team. The shots didn't show it, but they COMPETED...that's what Coach Bergeron wants. Everything this season is a learning experience for the boys, to have 5 wins already this early is awesome! I personally didn't think they would be at this point this early in the season. You saw why Miami is ranked where they are last night. I would assume after Friday night's game, that Coach Blasi took them to task and you saw the result last night. But, again, I was happy at the way the boys COMPETED last night. They gave it all they had, and hats off to Hammy, he played superb between the pipes. We'll get there, the building blocks are in place. It isn't going to happen overnight. When Miami re-built the program, it didn't happen overnight. Of course, there are alot of things to work on and fix. That's what goes along with being young and inexperienced. WATCH the game, don't watch the stats and the scoreboard. It's alot more interesting to see the progression of the team that way.

Jim and Cookie

GO FALCONS!

NEVER GIVE UP!
NEVER SURRENDER!

Competing hard is great. But, we're getting close to December which means you need to start translating competition to performance. I'm not sure if you were insinuating I only looked at stats and the box score but I can assure you that's not the case.

We had some penalties this weekend that would get you suspended and fined in the NHL.. That is unacceptable. In the first period we had enough aggression to get in some fights at the end of the period but didn't put the same effort on crashing to Knapp.

I'm well aware we're young and lack the talent of the Miami's, Duluth's, and Michigan's. However, we're not good mentally. I know the coaches are drilling that into the players. There's just some guys who aren't getting it. I can accept losing when we compete well and play smart. I can't accept losing when we're more focused on putting a guy through the glass than working deep and grinding.

Real refs would not have let the game get to the point it was. Our checks were nothing compared to what we were receiving. Just ask Fink, Ruel, and Rodriguez.

Alright, we dropped down to their level and threw the goonmanship back at them.

They got 6 points, we got 0.

From sitting on ice level I can tell you, Mimai is the biggest bunch of goons there are. If being a good hockey program means being like them, I hope we go 0-40 every year!!!!!!!!!!!!!
