I'm not sure if anyone here has seen it, but HBO is doing a behind-the-scenes documentary on the Penguins and Capitals called 24/7 leading up to the Winter Classic. The first episode featured a lot of Byslma and even gave a little bit of background on his playing and coaching career. It's a pretty awesome show.

Re: Dan Bylsma on HBO's 24/7
Thought I'd bump this up. Congrats to George McPhee's Capitals for winning the Winter Classic 3-1. I was rooting for Dan Bylsma and Todd Reirden, but can't be unhappy when any BG alum wins!! Doc Emrick called the game too. A lot of BG connections in this game. Thought Doc might mention them, but he didn't.
EDIT: Also, anyone else notice the BG jersey in episode 2? Around the 16 minute mark, they talk about a home game day tradition in Pittsburgh where they have a 1:00 staff game in which Mario Lemieux skated in a game for the first time in 5 years. Around the 18 minute mark, Dan skates around the back of the net, comes around the front to take a shot. Briefly, you will see someone in a BGSU jersey, socks and a white helmet with a cage on the front. You can see him again at the 18 min mark. I paused the video (over and over), but can't tell who it is. It isn't Stretch, as he has a blue Penguins jersey on, so not sure who it is! Anyone else know?

"Regarding BGSU, I would think their biggest strength is that they never give up, They never slow down and they battle hard even after the other team scores. We have to be on our game and never, ever take the foot off the gas for a second."

"BG was relentless. It's like they know that a good first pass on the breakout from a defenseman will almost always result in an odd-man rush against them - but they go in anyway and dare you to make that pass. All three of their goals were just grit and effort. That's a team any fan can be proud to support...they give all they've got."

The guy in the BGSU sweater is more than likely Steve Mears. He is a BGSU grad and works for the Pens doing interviews and such on their website.

It's a BG reunion over there!

It may also have been Shaun Suisham. About half way down on the link is a picture of Dan and Shaun.

Don't know that the Steelers would be all that keen on one of their players playing a drop-in hockey game. I mean, it's a little more dangerous than riding a motorcycle or beating up a towel dispenser.tiznow wrote: It may also have been Shaun Suisham. Good to see Shaun's already learned to let other people take his picture for him, though. And to keep his pants on in the process.

There was an article about this as well and Shaun said he would have to wait until the off season. I just thought it was a cool picture to post. I like the comment above the picture taking a shot at Reed. He did get to meet your fav Crosby as well.
The quote is below:
If you can imagine such a thing, a Steelers kicker showed up to a Penguins event and didn't act like an obnoxious prima donna. Bowling Green product Shaun Suisham hung out with fellow alumni Dan Bylsma after practice yesterday:

Dan's alma did get mentioned during the Pit-Montreal game tonight by the color commentator.......Mike Johnson.Falcon Fanatic wrote:Thought I'd bump this up.
