Group of us are going up to Munn for the Saturday night (Feb. 26th) game against the Spartans. Need to find a decent hotel close to Munn (hopefully within walking distance) and a couple of good pubs. Got any recommendations!

I guess the closest would be a Howard Johnson on Trowbridge. I've never been there.
We usually stay in Okemos, just off I96 at exit 110. Holiday Inn Express, Hampton Inn, Fairfield Inn, Comfort Inn. They're all OK.
Also, there's a Towneplace Suites on Hannah Blvd. just off Hagadorn. It's close to MSU's eastern end. I guess you could walk from there if you really like to walk (it's about 1-1/2 miles to Munn). Stayed there once; not bad.
Bars aplenty in East Lansing. Crawl 'em.

Yeah, there's not a whole lot in the way of hotels on that side of campus... your best bet is probably to stay out in Okemos and drive in. If you want a great place to eat/drink, check out the Traveler's Club International Restaurant and Tuba Museum. It's in Okemos, and it's a fun place to eat!

A co-worker asked me to offer some suggestions since I’m familiar with E. Lansing.
The Kellogg Center ( http://www.kelloggcenter.com/) is on campus and probably one of the closest hotels. However, it will be a bit pricey. For nearby food try the Harrison Roadhouse ( http://www.harrisonroadhouse.com ).
Someone has already suggested the TownePlace Suites. This is always my first choice when I go to East Lansing. I’ve stayed there a couple dozen times or more. The downside is that it is a long walk from Munn. If you stay there, I recommend the Pizza House ( http://www.pizzahouse.com ) in a little plaza nearby.
A half mile north is another Marriott property. I think it is a Courtyard or Residence Inn. Again, a long walk.
For liquid refreshment, there are any number of establishments along Grand River. A great one is Crunchy’s ( http://www.crunchyseastlansing.com ). Good food prices and great selection of craft brew.
I hope this helps.

Unfortunately, I have my church job on Saturday so I cannot go. However, if anybody is going Friday night, I'll see you there!
