Everyone who loves Falcon Hockey needs to come to the game tonight to honor and thank this senior class!! These four guys stuck by this program when many of their team mates bailed out!! They have been through more crap than ANY senior class in this country. It wasn't what they signed on for when they committed to Falcon Hockey. I'm so proud to call these guys Falcons and know that they will have much success in the post-BG life!!!
David Solway, Nick Eno, Wade Finegan, and Andrew Krelove!!
THANKS GUYS!!!!
"Regarding BGSU, I would think their biggest strength is that they never give up, They never slow down and they battle hard even after the other team scores. We have to be on our game and never, ever take the foot off the gas for a second." ~~USCHO Poster "BG was relentless. It's like they know that a good first pass on the breakout from a defenseman will almost always result in an odd-man rush against them - but they go in anyway and dare you to make that pass. All three of their goals were just grit and effort. That's a team any fan can be proud to support...they give all they've got." ~~USCHO Poster, AFTER Tech beat us #NeverGiveUp

Couldn't have said it better myself Marta. These 4 guys will always be known as the cornerstones to the re-birth of Falcon hockey. They stuck with it, while others didn't. Hats off to you boys! Falcon hockey from here forward will be forever in your debt. Let's pack the house tonight for the boys, and especially for David, Nick, Wade and Andrew.
Thought Eno played good enough to win. First goal was brutal defensive with a turnover in our own zone inside the faceoff circle. Second goal, was a PP goal on a questionable penalty. Third Goal, once again defensive left Eno out to dry on a two-on-one. Wasn't his fault tonight.
Nice Crowd tonight, though with a one goal game going into the third seemed like half the crowd left. Where you going............one goal game going into the third, support the team. Same thing happens with football after half-time so I shouldn't be surprised.
That arena in the last 4 minutes was electric tonight. We definitely gave those guys on the ice some energy from it. There were so many shots that just barely missed...

Side note: Bergeron is quite possibly one of the most grateful coaches I have seen. Each of the last 4 games, he's acknowledged and thanked the crowd and band for their support. I can't say how much I appreciate that being a fan. Absolutely fantastic!!!!
Coach Bergeron and our fantastic seniors - hats off to you!!!!

This is nice recoginition and creates great relations with people and those supporting your program which is always a bonus.
However, no matter who you recoginize it only matters if you win. It's the sad state of professional sports leaking into college and high school. If you don't win, eventually it won't matter how nice a guy you are, you won't be able to recoginize anyone because you won't be coaching anyone.
One of the reasons I feel that alot of people left after the second was many fans that possibly just came to see the beheading of Freddie and Frieda....I know its sad to say that may be more important to students than the actual play of our team... Thankfully for fans like us that stick it out till that Alma Mater is played, it was nice to see the fans who stayed got so into it.
Some thoughts on the game:
BG played hard, and had many opportunities to send that game to overtime, like it has been all year, the puck just hasnt bounced our way. Either way it was nice to see that whole team go out and give it their all on senior night. One thing I had noticed this weekend was we did a better job at limiting shot attempts, in past we had been giving up 25-35 shots a night....this weekend I believe we held them under 20 the first night and under 25 the second night? Either way the defensive pressure and forecheck must be working better now. A few mental lapses at times led to some unfortunate goals for Northern but this team competed till the end and didnt give up. On to Munn!!!
I am saddened to have watch Dave, Andrew, Wade, and Nick play there last games at the BGSU Ice Arena, when this program reaches its future success, these four are the ones that need to be thanked the most, for sticking through the hard times and taking a program on their backs. Great four players to come through BG regardless of stats, these four truly are what it means to be a Falcon. Gonna miss em. Make some noise in the playoffs boys!!!!
Great post sum1udontknow!! I agree with your comments about the four seniors. I was sad, knowing that I would never again see these guys skate for the Falcons in the BGSU ice arena. The adversity that these guys have been through and the fact that they didn't take the easy way out tells volumes about their character and the kind of guys they are!!!
I also love how hard they competed all weekend!! They need to continue that at Munn next week and into the playoffs. No team is going to be thrilled be hosting us in the first round!!
GO GREEN, GO WHITE, SO SUCK AN EGG!!!!

Seeing as we're 2-13 in postseason play since 2005, I think every team in the CCHA that isn't good enough to get a bye would love to face us in round 1. Let's not kid ourselves, who doesn't want to face the worst team in the league?
Now if we pull a 1st round upset, then the quarterfinal round opponent would certainly be on high alert, but as for the first round, it's more likely that our path to victory lies in our opponent taking us completely for granted, chalking up 2 W's before the series even begins and looking ahead to the quarterfinals.
24. Quality provider of the truth, for better or for worse.
I think we could possibly pull something off in the first round. My understanding of the payoffs is that we should be playing the 6th seeded team since the top 5 teams get byes... The next round we would be reseeded and play a top team that would make wining a lot tougher. But hey, why not, lets win the whole d@mn thing!
