If you could have one wish....

Wasn't sure if I should have posted this in this forum or in the basketball forum but here goes. If you could have one wish would you choose to have the BG hockey team have a magical run and somehow get hot and win the CCHA Championship or have the Men's basketball team get hot and win the MAC Championship and make the NCAA Tournament for the first time in 50 years. You can only choose one. Which would you choose?

No contest....BG Hockey hands down. I never was much of a bouncey ball fan....

Asking this question on the Hockey forum seems a bit silly.
Kind of like asking a crackhead if he'd rather have a lifetime supply of free dope, or get front row seats for the Celine Dion-Yanni tour.

This is a good quandry. I look at it this way. MAC Basketball doesn't quite have the talent that CCHA Hockey does. Given the current state of our teams, I'd rank our basketball team as better relative to MAC competition than hockey is to CCHA teams. So really, the answer is clear, I'd rather have the hockey title.
It's really not that difficult to imagine BG beating the likes of WMU, Miami, and Kent/Akron over a 3 day period to make the NCAA tournament. But the hockey team going through Northern Michigan, Michigan, Notre Dame, and Miami over a 3 week stretch to win the CCHA would be downright mind-blowing, and one the greatest underdog stories in the history of sports, IMO.

If its not that DIFFICULT for the BG basketball team to win 3 games in 3 days then why haven't they done it the past 50 years. But I do agree that if BG can beat UNM, Michigan, Miami and ND is a much bigger feat.
