NCAA Tournament

Post by BGFalconfromCincy »

What are everyone's thoughts on the field of 16 announced today. Who makes the Frozen Four, who wins the national championship, and how will the CCHA teams do.

CCHA Matchups:

Miami vs New Hempshire
Western vs Denver
Michigan vs Omaha
ND vs Merrimack

I think North Dakota beats Yale for the title
BGSU c/o 2009 & 2013

My predictions for our CCHA brothers, and final results:

MICHIGAN clobbers UNO, but gets beat by BC regional final.

WESTERN MICHIGAN gives Denver two solid periods before falling.

NewHampshire eats MIAMI's lunch. During the postgame presser, Enrico blasts selection committee for making his blessed Brotherhood play in the back yard of a lower seeded team. NCAA fines him $2500 for his tirade...Andy Miele offers to pay the fine by donating 1/10 of 1% of his NHL signing bonus. At next year's coach's conference, NCAA adopts the "Miami Rule"..."regional host teams can ONLY be placed in their own bracket if they qualify as a #1 or #2 regional seed." In 2014, with Miami hosting the MW regionals in Dayton, Miami qualifies as a #3 seed, and gets shipped off to the Western regional in Jeneau Alaska.

Merrimack and NOTRE DAME go 2ot before the Irish fall.

NO CCHA teams get to FrozenFour.

SemiFinals.....Yale beats Merrimack and BostonCollege beats Denver
Championship.....BC (again)
Du hockey comme dans le temps!

"Regarding BGSU, I would think their biggest strength is that they never give up, They never slow down and they battle hard even after the other team scores. We have to be on our game and never, ever take the foot off the gas for a second."

"BG was relentless. It's like they know that a good first pass on the breakout from a defenseman will almost always result in an odd-man rush against them - but they go in anyway and dare you to make that pass. All three of their goals were just grit and effort. That's a team any fan can be proud to support...they give all they've got."
