Re-Alignment Options Become Clear

It looks like this crazy summer of hockey is finally getting clear. The CCHA has two options (take 4 Atlantic Hockey teams or merge with the WCHA), Western Michigan needs to decide if its going to hang on with its CCHA comrades or join the NCHC and Notre Dame just needs to decide what it wants to do. Likely though, by this time next week, all of this should have played out.

Personally, from a BGSU point of view, I'd prefer to see the 4 Atlantic Hockey teams join the CCHA. I think that if the league expands East, it would help BG's recruiting into New England more than if the league went West.

Selfishly, adding teams in Buffalo and Niagara Falls is attractive to me.

Alaska may be joining WCHA. It's possible just FSU, BGSU, and LSSU left to join the four teams from the Atlantic Conference.

Reportedly, the Atlantic Conference schools not wanting to travel to Alaska.

I don't know if we'll be able to make Buffalo this year, or not. We always go to visit my mom in Ohio for T'giving. May head out early on Friday and stop at the game on the way home. Another example of great scheduling.

I'm planning on making the Kent State game this year. Maybe we'll see you there.
