That's too bad. They have a really nice arena now that is has been renovated. They seemed to have a decent amount of students attending the game I went to but that was about it. Little support from the city it looked like.

Looks like they are going to drop to club level again. That's better than cutting it completely. At least this way, they have a chance to return to D-1 again in the future. Still sucks big time though. REALLY BIG TIME!! :evil:

The most idiotic part of this is an interim president made the decision. The new president is taking over in the next week or two. Why not let the actual president make the call?

I agree, but in reading the note from the guy I'm not surprised. Instead of using the "interim president" title, he simple referred to himself as the "President". Have a feeling he thinks pretty highly of himself.

The new President was a part of the decision making process. The Interim President takes the PR hit and the new President has clean hands as he arrives on campus.

He's actually the chancellor of the University of Alabama system. So in essence, he's the boss of the new president.

Happens all the time. Almost happened at BGSU.
