BG @ UAF

Post by bgbill »

Our plans to be at Fairbanks for the games got weathered out at the Seattle airport. Scheduled flight to FAI today was cancelled, and they can't get us there until late Friday night, so we're hoping to get back to DTW tomorrow afternoon.
Lots of stranded travellers here; we were lucky to get a room for tonight.

Hate to miss the games.
All is for the best in this best of all possible worlds.

Wow, that sucks! I know the players had about 6 hours of delay throughout their flights, but finally made it there. Sorry to hear that and hope you have a safe and UNEVENTFUL trip back!

GO FALCONS!!
SWEEP THE NANOOKS!!
"Regarding BGSU, I would think their biggest strength is that they never give up, They never slow down and they battle hard even after the other team scores. We have to be on our game and never, ever take the foot off the gas for a second."

"BG was relentless. It's like they know that a good first pass on the breakout from a defenseman will almost always result in an odd-man rush against them - but they go in anyway and dare you to make that pass. All three of their goals were just grit and effort. That's a team any fan can be proud to support...they give all they've got."

The two games can be viewed (for $$) through here:

We've watched the feed from Alaska before. It's not a bad feed and I like the UAF play by play guy. He usually gives BG plenty of good comments.

GOOOOOOOOOOO FALCONS!!
BEAT THE NANOOOOOOOKS!!!!

3-1. Falcons give up a powerplay goal with about 2 minutes left. Everett talking about a shutout when they scored.

One minute left, Alaska with an empty net now.

3-1 FALCONS WIN!

Of note, the CCHA Refs were not able to make it to Fairbanks so the linesmen were promoted to referees and NAHL officials were linesmen.
