Banner over Melrose's Shoulder

Post by rally »

Enjoyed the broadcasts on Thursday (except that ESPNU is still SD on DishTV ... come on Dish/Disney, get that settled). Really like seeing the "Bowling Green, National Champions" banner behind Barry Melrose during his between period analyses. It was the only banner visible and was large and clear; almost looked like an advertisement. A very fortuitous placement.

Seeing the BG banner ALMOST makes listening to Melrose's dribble tolerable.

Well, they moved the camera angle for the final ... someone complained. Ya, I was going to make some Melrose comment too, but that was just too easy. Besides, he makes me laugh.

They actually moved the BG banner UP during the semis. Barry couldn't see the scoreboard because OUR Bowling Green banner was blocking his view. They pulled it up, which made it higher than all of the other banners and looked kind of cool being "above" the other banners!! Apparently they adjusted all of them after the semis, because the whole row of banners was moved up and looked even again. I have pics of the banner hanging crooked while they were trying to pull it up, then after it was pulled up above the others, ....but I don't know how to post them here. :?
"Regarding BGSU, I would think their biggest strength is that they never give up, They never slow down and they battle hard even after the other team scores. We have to be on our game and never, ever take the foot off the gas for a second."

"BG was relentless. It's like they know that a good first pass on the breakout from a defenseman will almost always result in an odd-man rush against them - but they go in anyway and dare you to make that pass. All three of their goals were just grit and effort. That's a team any fan can be proud to support...they give all they've got."
