I found this passage interesting:

"BG is hoping to play current CCHA members Miami, Michigan, Michigan State, Notre Dame and Western Michigan in non-league series.
'There are enough teams around here that non-conference scheduling is not going to be an issue for us,' Christopher said."

Seems like he left a team out. I'll wager it wasn't intentional, but it works for me.

Does that team happen to be located in Columbus. They probably don't want to play us anymore after this season since their two shootouts loses to us last season led to their collapse

Or OSU has already made it known they will not be playing on the road against what they deem to be "lower" teams.

I'm willing to bet Christopher's and Bergeron's lists don't include the same teams either.

The CCHA semifinals in March drew a combined total of only 10,421 for games between BG and Michigan, and Western and Miami. BG sold the most tickets for Friday's games.
I knew we had a B!G BG crowd at the Joe on Friday, but didn't know that we had sold the most tickets for the Friday game!! \:D/

"Christopher said Air Force, a member of Atlantic Hockey, likes "being in Atlantic Hockey, it makes it an easier path to the NCAAs." I thought that might have also been an advantage for BG had we looked East instead of West.

For what it's worth, Atlantic Hockey only allows 14 scholarships. Air Force doesn't have athletic scholarships. Neither does RIT.

Ya, the whole student body at Air Force is on scholarship.

New-look WCHA eyeing alternating sites for championship tournament:

Somewhat off topic editorial comment:
I would love it if the "new WCHA" just got a NEW NAME, especially since 5 out of the 9 teams are former CCHA teams... :?

I understand why you feel that way, but just don't see it happening since it was the WCHA that invited the five CCHA schools to their conference, instead of a whole new conference being created and formed like in the NCHC situation

Don't be surprised if the new WCHA has a new commisioner right away.
Also, I've heard that tOSU would like to play a full 2-home, 2-away schedule with BG aftr the split. Also heard, subliminally, that Redskins can go suck an egg.
Another: we might not be hanging a Latvian flag in the rink this season.

Not sure about that last one, Bill. By all recent accounts, he will be playing.

For a team that struggles with attendance, I'm sure they'll be looking for opponents that are close enough to bring a good sized crowd with them.
