I brought this up back in Novemeber when the discussion was which league BG would be in and with the formation of the "superfriends league". The current College hockey rule regarding leagues is the formation of a new league is not granted an automatic bid. They are considered on probation the first year and the sencond year of their existence as a league they will be greated an auto bid. This has not been brought up through the media or usa hockey sites at all. Given the schools involved with the two new leagues and the money generated that rule will be quickly waived and swept under the rug.

Honestly chances are the winner of these conferences will get a bid based on Pairwise alone.

Not really a fan of any of these changes, except for the goal change. I definitely think giving conferences the option of which overtime format to use is a bad idea. Leave it 5-on-5 or mandate it be 4-on-4 (which I'm not a fan of anyway, but be consistent throughout).

All in the name of creating more offense. If they want more offense so bad, they should develop a system to obsolete the trap. Until that happens, low scoring 1-2 goal games will be the norm.
