Ohio State 12 votes, USCHO Poll?

It is curious to me. How does Ohio State earn 12 poll votes for losing and tying with unranked Alaska. When we manage the same feat with 9th ranked Western, and we ranked ahead of them in the CCHA, and Split with them and have a better overall season outlook?
I apologize for the rant here but that is really crooked. I understand that when the B10 conference forms, the buckeyes will continue to be the historic hockey after thought, but dang. These poll voters really need to look at the numbers!

Agreed. Ohio State is not that great this season. Last year, they had a pretty good team, but this year they are back in development.

It's simply a poll. Most voters simply look at the Pairwise or Krach and copy that. Once BG actually does something, then we can expect votes.

Yes, I hear you PDT, and for the record. I was not trying to make the case that BG deserved votes, we all know we don't yet. I was, and should have been more clear. Clear in that for the same reasons we did not earn votes, OSU should not.
As well as yes, it is just a poll. I just dislike how polls ruined college football, and do not like or trust that the B10 will not try and ruin college hockey the same way. I am fearful they will try and manipulate the college hockey world, to garrner additional playoff positions by making some case via polls, or other such nonsense, that the B10 is an all powerful conference and that they should expect 4 play off spots a season. I just believe it is in all of our best interests, to let the powers that governor our sport. Know that there is no situation or new situation required to help get b10 in post season play, beyond what has worked so well in the past.

B10 and the new "superfriends" conferences with create nothing but havic for all involved in college hockey. When conference relignment was in full swing last year at this time I'd talked to someone close the hockey program and discussed BG going to the WCHA. In the conversation he had mentioned something very interesting, newly created conferences do NOT receive an automatic bid to the NCAA tournament. They have to be on probation for one year before they receive an automatic bid. Given the B10 and the "superfirends" conference are both in this boat I can bet this rule will be waved immediately and won't be enforced. Money talks............. thanks Penn State for ruining college hockey.

I disagree on this and I always will. To me if anyone "ruined" college hockey it was Miami and the others running off and forming their own conference. Both the WCHA and CCHA would have had enough good program to survive, but those first six got scared that the Big Ten teams wouldn't play them anymore so they ran off and got two more to join them. I can understand why people blame Penn State and/or the Big Ten, but I will always point the finger of blame at Miami and those original five who jumped first to form that new conference.

I wouldn't even blame Miami. Only reason they got included with North Dakota and Denver is because the new conference needed a whipping boy.
