Big Ten Network

As much as I hate on the Big Ten, I must give credit where credit is due. The broadcast tonight is probably one of the best college hockey broadcasts I've seen in a long time. Billy Jaffe had some great things to say in the postgame show, and throughout the intermission reports. The play-by-play and color commentator also did a great job. Yes, the excuses of players just getting back (Trouba and Merrill) and the long break, etc. were given, but everybody did a great job of giving BG the credit they deserved.

Trouba is a fantastic hockey player. He put up a few goals in the World Juniors tournament. To be able to shut him down was an accomplishment in itself.

I didn't hear them say anything about this being BGs 3rd game in the past 4 days, traveling from Buffalo to BG, and then up to Ann Arbor...but I guess they forgot to mention that once we started winning.

I believe they mentioned it during the pre-game, but once we started scoring and it was obvious there was no threat of a comeback it didn't really warrant mentioning.

They did a great job. They even managed to call out the bogus game misconduct on the boarding call.

I wonder how BTN managed to tear itself away from football and basketball reruns. I grew tired of the Michigan-this and Michigan-that, but Mrs. BG84 pointed out that it is the Big Ten Network. It was good to see an away game on TV for once, and I'm glad Emrick didn't call the game.
I wanted more camera angles on the controversial penalties, although the shot to Mohler's head was pretty clear. Sometimes I think slow motion replays make hits look worse than they really were.
What do you think about Shea's clipping penalty?
