I have a dilema.
My wife and I rarely miss a home game, but this Friday our grandson has a high school basketball game which conflicts with the Western Michigan game. She has decided she will go support the grandson. This has happened before, and will happen again.
I called a friend and invited him to join me for the hockey game, he said "sure, I'd love to come along...but you need to remember that every time you've taken me to a game BG has gotten creamed...are you sure you want me to come?"
I see several possible solutions:
A. Tell the wife she needs to get her priorities in order. HS bouncyball games are a dime a dozen, and they'll be other grandsons. This solution, while expedient, does pose certain risks.
B. Give both my tickets away to charity and go with my wife to the basketball game. I like the positive karma that this choice may produce, but; damn it, I don't want to miss the game.
C. Find a new friend...preferably one who is not a jinx. I'd feel like a heel for taking the offer back, but I give him credit for respecting the possibility that he may be to blame.
D. Bring him along, and hope for the best. It's silly to think that one guy's presence in the stands can have any negative effect...he deserves another chance.
I'd be happy to consider any other suggestions.
