Nearly 3500 showed up for the game last night. Kudos to the fans. Hockey is now clearly out drawing the basketball team. Just goes to show when you put out a competitive product the fans will come back. Only a few more home games remain this season.

I think we can say for certain that hockey has a much more committed and rabid following in BG than men's basketball does. Even in 2009 when men's basketball won the MAC regular season and hockey was finishing last in the CCHA, hockey still drew comparable attendance numbers.

If I remember correctly, women's basketball was close to outdrawing both that season, but hockey had some big attendance games like MSU, UM, and OSU that prevented that from happening.

BG Hockey is simply a better product than BG men's hoops...
