I like that each of our new conference foes makes a trip to the ice arena next year

3 trips to the UP, one to Alabama, and to Alaska. Wow.

The trip to Bama is going to be every year as they are our travel partner, so we will always be playing them 4 times
Three trips to the UP does suck, and I would expect at least one trip to Alaska every season.
Personally I hope Minnesota State wins the WCHA tourney and one of our group going to that league wins the CCHA tourney to make the league look stronger

The trip to Bama shouldn't be bad. I believe it's about the same as the trip to Marquette, just less chance of running into a blizzard. The "Western" league will have a far larger footprint than the "National" league. Travel is gonna suck for both conferences. Travel for the WCHA.just won't include the plane trips to Colorado.

Can't wait for this new frontier, where the 3 college hockey teams in Ohio...Ohio State, Miami, and Bowling Green are all in different conferences. Ditto for teams in the other states...

I guess you can say all the lower budget schools got "Sanduskied" by the big budget hockey schools.

There will likely come a time when fans from those schools that left the CCHA long for the days when they could jump in a car and go see their favorite hockey team play most games on the road in only a few hours time.

What I love most about the schedule is when we are home, IT IS FOR BOTH NIGHTS!!!!! I have HATED these home and home series. I am looking forward to much more of this in the WCHA.

Did no one else notice that 12 of the games are against the three teams most likely to be the doormats of the league: Michigan Tech, Anchorage and Alabama?

Alabama will probably be pretty bad for a couple years, maybe 10. Tech and Anchorage are both capable of surprising people. They've won games against the top teams in the WCHA this year. Should we beat them? Absolutely. Will it be easy? No. It's college hockey. Any team can win on any given night.

We of all people should know that by now.

I think that is was it going to make this new WCHA a very fun, entertaining, and competitive conference. Ferris and Minnesota State will probably be the two best teams (at least based of the two leagues standings this season) but then 3-9 could be a toss up between us, Lake, NMU, the Alaskas, Tech, and Bemidji.

true for WCHA games, but we still have the home/home with OSU next year. and bless their little hearts for that.

more future home/homes with UofM, State, Miami, and Western would be just fine.

Miami and Western will be more likely the Michigan and Michigan State. Our fellow MAC members are going to need those bus trips out of conference since the only ones they'll have in conference are against one another and likely Omaha

with only 5 other B1G teams, michigan is gonna need a lot of non-conference games every year too. if BG hangs tough and doesn't get sucked into any 2-for-1 visit deals, gotta believe michigan will look our way sooner or later. what's easier than a home-and-home an hour down the road? we still have some long-term geographical advantages, even if they didn't work for us during realignment.
anyway, my opinion--better to not play them again than take a lousy 2-for-1 deal.
