Does anyone know if this series is sold out?

Tried to get tickets through ND's website and said non where available. Put my quantity down to one and got the same response. Haven't heard anything. If it is sold out does anyone have tickeys there not able to use or how to get them. Need 3 for saturday.

It's their senior night and their last chance to get points, so it might be sold out already.

Do the visitors get an allotment? Or is that just playoff games?

That would imply that our ticket office would be accomodating to fans who would want to purchase tickets to away games and make them available to said fans.

I can tell you from experience that this is definitely not the case.

I do know for a fact that BG did not get a ticket allotment for this game. I don't know if BG has to request that or if it's up to the the host school to give that option to the visiting team.

It's worth a call to their ticket office. Even if you can only get standing room tickets, there's usually enough no-shows that you shouldn't have to stand after the first period. Miami's the same way.

I've done some calculating;

If we get 6pts this weekend, that will tie us with Alaska (their conference schedule is done), and we'll hold the tie-breaker based on head-to-head. We'll be #6 seed, and the results of other games can't change that.

If we get 5pts, we'll be the #7 seed, regardless of any other results.

If we get 4pts, LSS could tie us for 7th with a sweep of NM, but we would hold the tie-breaker with them (again based on head-to-head) and we retain #7 seed.

If we get 3pts, A) LSS could pass us with a sweep of NMU, and B) UM could tie us with a sweep over FS. We'd hold the head-to-head tie breaker with UM. If A happens, we'd fall to #8, if B happens we'd remain #7. If A and B both happen we'd fall to #8

If we get 2pts, A) LSS could pass us with 5pts from NM. B) UM could pass us with a sweep over FS. If A or B happens we fall to #8, If BOTH happen we fall to #9

If we get just 1pt, A) LSS could pass us with 4pts from NM, B) UM could pass us with 5pts from FS, C) NM could tie us with a sweep over LSS (in which case NM would hold the tie-breaker). If A, B or C happens, we fall to #8. If A and B or B and C happen we'd drop to #9. There's no possible way A and C (or A,B and C) could happen, as LSS and NMU are playing each other...they can't get more than 6pts between them.

If we get swept; A) LSS still needs 3pts from NM to pass us. B) UM still needs 4pts from FS. C) NM needs 5pts to tie us (we would hold the first tie-breaker {most conference wins}) D) NM could pass us with a sweep over LSS. If A or B happens we drop to #8. If A and B both happen we drop to #9. If B and C both happen we fall to #8. If B and D both happen we fall to #9. No combination of A and C or A and D is possible.

Remember 6-7-8 get home ice for opening round. 9-10-11 travel.

Conclusion #1: We control our own destiny.
Conclusion #2: I have way too much time on my hands today.

FYI: CCHA tie-breakers for tournament seeding.

#1. Most conference WINS (NOT including shoot-out)
#2. Winning percentage in Head-to-Head games
#3. Total goals in Head-to-Head games
#4. Winning percentage against each other team in the league, starting at the top of the standings, and continuing down until the tie is broken
#5. Goal differential against each other team in the league, starting at the top of the standings and continuing down until the tie is broken.
#6. Coin toss

I have a headache after reading all the scenarios. Let's just win both games. Simple enough.

Deep thought.

If the NCAA (via legal action and intimidation) can force North Dakota to drop their "Fighting Sioux" nickname because they consider it "hostile and abusive"...why has there never been any suggestion that they might go after Notre Dame? :axe:

Win Friday and we enjoy more hockey in BG. No use looking towards Saturday yet.

If you had just a *little* more time on your hands, you would have found John Wagner's blog post from earlier in the week with the same scenarios figured out.

Of course, if I had a little more time on my hands, I would have gone and found the link.

IRREGARDLESS, nice work! GO BG!
