It's a SWEEP!
Hopefully Kucera is ok. He went hard into the boards at the end of the game and had to be helped off the ice.

CONGRATS on their first WCHA sweep!!!
Tomas Sholl's stop on that breakaway was pretty impressive!! UAA was pretty chippy to say the least, but for the most part, we kept our composure and was able to come out with the sweep! Nice start for our first WCHA series!

"Regarding BGSU, I would think their biggest strength is that they never give up, They never slow down and they battle hard even after the other team scores. We have to be on our game and never, ever take the foot off the gas for a second."

"BG was relentless. It's like they know that a good first pass on the breakout from a defenseman will almost always result in an odd-man rush against them - but they go in anyway and dare you to make that pass. All three of their goals were just grit and effort. That's a team any fan can be proud to support...they give all they've got."

Did you know...?
The last time we had a 2-0 record to open conference play was 1996.

For some reason, this post makes me sad. And just a little bit angry.Freddie wrote:Did you know...?

Hopefully all that bad management of the program is permanently in the past.

That was scary. My wife and I were standing right behind the ice box when we got hit... looked bad. Should it have been 5 or a game misconduct?pdt1081 wrote:It's a SWEEP!

The scariest thing was him trying to stand the first time and nearly falling again. You knew it wasn't good after that...
I pray he's ok.
Great weekend of hockey though! This team knows how to play and keep up the intensity!!!

other than the win, best moment of the night:
bleacher creatures chanting "thank you parents!" before the game. classy.
good to hear kucera is tweeting and feeling better.

Here was his tweet last night:
"Thank you everyone for the support. I am doing well. Big sweep for the boys"
Big relief when I saw that! Hope there is no lingering effects.

Wasn't really thinking that long term. Was thinking more along the lines of headaches this week and him being out for the next series or so, if he ends up being diagnosed with a concussion. Hope that's not the case for Connor!pdt1081 wrote:We'll see what lingering effects show up in February. Will definitely be interesting.Falcon Fanatic wrote:Here was his tweet last night:

Which UAA player hit him? Was it #39 who was gooning it up both nights?pdt1081 wrote:Oh, I know those effects.
