It makes sense one of the snowiest and coldest weeks in history ends with us hosting the Nanooks. Alaska is 5-8-1 for 11 points so far in WCHA play while BG is 8-6-2 for 18 points so far, holding on well to 3rd with an 11-9-4 record overall. Both teams are averaging above 3 goals a game, Ferris and Minnesota State are the only other ones who are doing so while BG is 3rd in scoring D, Alaska is second to last. Kunyk and Morely are their big scorers, both averaging a point a game.
Overall I look for it to be a high scoring series with BGSU getting a sweep, high scoring quick pace games favor them quite heavily

I like our chances. As long as the team stays focused they should win both games. One may be high scoring, but I don't look for both of them to be.

Why does everyone insist on predicting series sweeps? The only team in the conference I feel like we should just expect to sweep is Alabama Huntsville, and we saw what happened against them earlier this year....I think we could sweep Fairbanks, but it certainly isn't likely going by our track record. Sweeping isn't easy to do.....The team just needs to keep getting points each weekend and get home ice for the playoffs. That way the soonest we would have to face Ferris or MSU-Mankato would be the final 5.

no, sweeping isn't easy.
but everybody except Bemidji has games-in-hand on us. Northern has four games-in-hand.
we need better than three splits from the next six home games, and it can be done.

Bergeron on the status of Ryan Carpenter: “I expect him to be in the conversation for this weekend, but it’s still too early to tell."

Williamson, Berkle, and Carpenter score goals, and Burke and the entire team hold Alaska scoreless for a 3-0 win. Hope for a repeat tomorrow.

UAA beat MSU-Mankato last night 2-1 which puts BG in a tie with MSU-Mankato for second. The problem is that we've played 2 more games league games than MSU-Mankato (17 - 15). In fact the only team that we haven't won more league games than is Bemidji. We need to keep winning and hope that those behind us lose more than they win in order for us to stay at the top of the league. NMU is in 8th place but they have only played 12 games and are idle this weekend. Theoretically, they could leap frog us even if we win out. Our position is precarious at best. Ferris may be uncatchable if they keep winning since they've only played 13 league games.

Cooper puts BG up 1-0 at the end of the first.
Kinda frustrating watching both teams chase an unfrozen puck around the ice. Almost as frustrating as listening to this canned music without any bass notes....

End of the 2nd, and it's still 1-0 BG.
Perhaps someone needs to inform these officials that they can call penalties on BOTH teams.

Ends in a tie. Why the hell would you pull a line change with 10 seconds left and the puck at your offensive blueline?
