Hey everyone! I wanted to get on here and ask if anyone had suggestions or concerns regarding the student section at hockey games. I know it's been an issue in previous years, so it's about time to see how people feel. With the season coming up, the Bleacher Creatures are already preparing! We wanted to hear input from the community and and alumni to see what we could do. Keep in mind we are just students, so we don't have the power to please everyone, but we are always willing to try! We just want to do our best to unite the arena and make it a great place for the team to play! Any comments, concerns, or feedback from last season is appreciated, thanks!

Keep it up. Don't change any of the chants. The students really love them, and the students are WAY louder than the rest of the fans combined.

Keep growing the group. The atmosphere you create is why I love college athletics. Remember to support your fellow students in the band too. Nothing sounds better than the whole student section singing along with the band during time outs and between periods.

Thanks for all of the support! The asshole/ bullshit chants are trying to be cut down. The jackass chant is more than likely here to stay. Really trying to cut out the other unnecessary vulgarity though. We will continue to keep trying to make the student section bigger and better, and support the band the best we can!

Do all you can to get rid of the "aawwww seeya, bye bye, jackass" cheer. We don't need to do anything close to imitating that other university from Ann Arbor!! We are far above that level in creativity, let's show it.

There is a game against Minn St is October 31. That is Halloween.
The Bleacher Creatures might consider some tie in to Halloween.

And that's the lamest cheer I've ever heard. Middle School cheerleaders do that one because it's too difficult to do other ones.

And, as for the cheer sending the guy to the penalty box...as a student, I never cared if Michigan came up with that first. As far as I was concerned, it was a BG chant and it was fun. Good luck battling that thought process, because that's the student section at BGSU.

What do bananas have to do with anything?

Well, there are those 3 kids that come dressed as bananas... and the ref #98 that tossed them bananas after intermissions. I can still remember the chants: "NINETY EIGHT! NINETY EIGHT!" Then he called a penalty on Bemidji and we yelled "Yeah! You tell him, 98!" The first and last time the student section ever cheered for a ref, I'm sure. I think he got an Honorary Bleacher Creature button, too.
