"He’s fast. He’s real fast. I mean he makes fast people look NOT fast”. Perhaps a line from the movie the Longest Yard, but it certainly is a great description for Stephen Baylis. Stephen combines this speed with an equal serving of grit, making him an outstanding power forward, skilled with the puck, but equally adept with the rougher elements of the game.

Stephen has been a member of the Carleton Place Canadians since the 2011 season after being drafted in the 2010 CCHL Draft in the first round, 4th overall. Since then Stephen has played over 150 games in the CCHL. This year playing with Evan Peterson and Andy Sturtz , Stephen has helped to form the most offensively dominating line in the league. As Coach Clarke indicates, “Stephen plays hockey the way it should be played, hard on everything, plays the full 200 feet and has the ability to make plays. He is the most complete player in our league, whether on his regular shift or when killing penalties Stephen’s efforts can change a game at any moment”. The keys t to how Stephen has achieved this standing in Coach Clarke’s views are quite simple, “Stephen has bought into what our program is selling and he is reaping the benefits. He is extremely dedicated to his off-ice training and if he continues on the path he is on, we will all be watching him play hockey on TV someday”."

"Regarding BGSU, I would think their biggest strength is that they never give up, They never slow down and they battle hard even after the other team scores. We have to be on our game and never, ever take the foot off the gas for a second."

"BG was relentless. It's like they know that a good first pass on the breakout from a defenseman will almost always result in an odd-man rush against them - but they go in anyway and dare you to make that pass. All three of their goals were just grit and effort. That's a team any fan can be proud to support...they give all they've got."

I hope not. That hasn't worked so well for football.

We don't have a new coaching staff with a whole new scheme to learn. We will be fine! :-D
