We're up 2-1 after the 1st period. Goals by Cooper and Hawkins, leading shots 13-10.

Video and audio aren't synched, which is annoying as crap! Alaska's feed is usually really good. They pulled the feed off the air for a bit, so hopefully it'll be synched right for 2nd period.

GO BG!!
BEAT THE NANOOKS!!!

This is a quote from the opposing coach we love to read: “Plain and simple, in the third period we got out-worked,” head coach Dallas Ferguson said. “The team came in and competed hard, won the loose pucks. We just didn’t have any pushback for what they were putting at us.”

I must say, I am very impressed with how our hockey team is playing to start the season. Through the years I was at BG, Alaska-Fairbanks was never a power but it seemed as though that long trip wore our guys down and we never got the points we probably should have out of those games. To get a sweep up there is a pretty big deal really.

At first I was convinced that this was just a good run of form, but now the evidence suggests that this team is capable of continuing to play at a high level for the majority of if not the entire season. It's going to be fun having 3 or 4 different BG teams to follow for the next month or so if they're all winning like this.

Oh...and we're 11th in the pairwise rankings, which means BG would be in the NCAA tournament if it started today. Back when I was in school I had no idea what the pairwise rankings even were because we were always so far away from being relevant.

Things are looking up!

19th in the USCHO poll. NMU is 18th which is a joke when you look at the records of the teams they've played.
