Wonder what the attendance will be for the game? I personally haven't seen much advertising for the game, maybe I'm just not looking hard enough.

I don't know how difficult it was to get an opponent, but it would have been nice to play a team that may bring out that borderline fan. Robert Morris just isn't going to do it.

The attendance will be better than if the game was played at the Ice Arena. Advertising has been lacking (as always). Personally, I've seen the setup of the stadium and I'm less than thrilled to sit outside, in the cold, to watch a hockey game where you won't be able to see much action. Those that go because "it's a once in a lifetime experience" will love it. Those of us that attend games because we love hockey, and BG hockey is the best around, will not.

And, yes, I've been rather adamant against an outdoor game for years. My attendance will be a game day decision based mostly on the weather.

I'm straddling both camps here. I'm sort of excited for something different, and hopeful the attendance is good. From picking out seats it seems like they've sold quite a few seats, although I have to wonder how many of those marked taken were pushed on some company and won't actually have people in the seats on gameday.

I also think I picked out pretty good seats, but I'm pretty sure even "good" seats won't be that great from the field photos I see on Twitter.

Finally, I hope BG is getting some of the gate from this game. I hate the bowl system in CFB where 90% of the schools going to bowls are losing money to do so, itd be dumb for BG to give up what they do bring in for a true home date, but I have a feeling that might be the case.

I'm not going. Why would I go to a game to watch ants slide around on a sheet of ice pushing around a tiny dot you can barely see. If they want an outdoor game, you have to make seating available that is decent. I realize that's asking for a lot, but as was mentioned earlier, the fans that enjoy going to home games will not be pleased with this game.

The truly sad part is the relatively inexpensive cost to rent bleachers that could be on the outfield side of the ice. These portable bleachers would provide decent seats for watching a game.

Our seats are behind the first base goal, first row in the upper deck. That's about as close as we can get.
I'm not a fan of outdoor games in stadiums (stadia?), but Robert Morris has a good W-L record and a win over them would "keep us in the conversation".
We're going to the game in Pittsburgh, too.

I will probably be there in Pittsburgh. Let's sweep em!

You're obviously NOT a hockey fan, so why should anybody take your opinion seriously.
Perhaps if they GAVE you a private heated box right on the glass, unlimited food and beverages, a limo ride and paid next quarter's tuition you'd be there.

Wow! Freddie was a real ass with his comment. the fact is, nobody can see at these stupid outdoor games. Only non-fans like them. Freddie must be a non-fan.

Ah, yes, the "real fans" comments. Those are always so productive to building up an intelligent, respectful fan base.

This game is going to have decent to awful sightlines, that's true. If you want to go enjoy the event and the novelty of it please do. But please don't put down those who choose to plop down their cash on BGSU hockey.

There's way too much divisiveness in this fan base. Comments like those I've read here are one of the reasons I barely come back to A-Z-Z anymore.

Yes, indeed...outdoor games are gimmicky and provide sight lines that are less than ideal, but let me see if I can understand the logic...my choosing to put up with those inconveniences in order to support my team and be a part of the event makes me NOT a fan? Holy cow, I must be missing something.

If you could get your hands on tickets to the bouncy-ball Final Four, would you decline to go because it's played in a football dome? When I bought my tickets to see Jimmy Buffet at Comerica Park last summer, I knew the sight and sound wouldn't be great, but I wanted to be part of the event.

My Falcons are relevant for the first time in 20-some years...they are playing a nationally ranked opponent at a site less than an hour's drive away...how could I NOT be there? How could ANYBODY (assuming they have the financial means) excuse themselves from an event like this and still call themselves fans?

Grow a pair, grab your long-johns and an extra jacket, find a set of binoculars if you think you need them, private message me if you need a ride.

Fans go to games all the time.

As said above, this is intended to be an "event". Treat it as such, and you'll have fun. Compare it to a "game" and you won't.

RIT did it last year and they had to stop the game at intervals to shovel the ice because of the snow-fall. It's different, that's what makes it fun.

I, as does the rest of my family, make my living working outside. If not wanting to sit in the cold to watch something we can't really see make us not fans, well, we already have tickets. They have our money. Don't think we'll be missed if we listen on the radio from the warmth of homes.
