WCHA Playoffs - Home vs. NMU
Figured I'd get something going here since we're a day away from puck drop on an extremely important series.
Couple of notes:
BG sits 11th in the PWR after moving up three spots last weekend thanks to some help. A sweep against NMU would be huge for at-large chances to the NCAA tournament.
NMU was beaten rather easily last weekend by Tech, I'll be curious to see how that affects their attitude this weekend. They have to feel confident at least knowing they can win in BG as shown a few weeks ago.
Students will still be on break unless there's a Game 3 on Sunday, so for those of you going, make sure to be extra loud!

The longer the walk, the farther you crawl.
Re: WCHA Playoffs - Home vs. NMU
I have to believe that the team is relishing the chance to redeem themselves against NMU. For the most part, we outplayed them in both games (supported by the SOG differential) and yet, due to mental breakdowns in both third periods, we gave the games away. I don't believe that will happen again.
On the flip side, we've had NMU's number in the playoffs when we were the underdogs. Is NMU looking forward to a reversal of roles? The chance to do to us what we did to them?
Should be a good series.

End of the first, 0-0. Shots are showing 7-9, in favor of the bad guys.

Boy, we got away with one. Got out-played and out-worked, but got a couple bounces and a win. NO GAME ON SUNDAY.

"Regarding BGSU, I would think their biggest strength is that they never give up, They never slow down and they battle hard even after the other team scores. We have to be on our game and never, ever take the foot off the gas for a second."

"BG was relentless. It's like they know that a good first pass on the breakout from a defenseman will almost always result in an odd-man rush against them - but they go in anyway and dare you to make that pass. All three of their goals were just grit and effort. That's a team any fan can be proud to support...they give all they've got."
