Nolan Valleau signs deal with the Blackhawks
Bit of a shock today as Nolan Valleau is leaving the program after signing a multi-year deal with the Chicago Blackhawks.

Congrats to him...but it seems a year or two early. Travel in the AHL is probably better than college hockey though...
It's not the fall that hurts...it's when you hit the ground.

Eh, he's 23. Hockey players coming into college are generally older than other sports due to their time in juniors, unless, of course, they are really, really good at a younger age (ala Friedman).Flipper wrote:Congrats to him...but it seems a year or two early. It's unfortunate, but it's also a sign of the types of recruits we are now picking up so it's a good problem to have. He'll be missed but we'll be fine.

He's 23? I thought he was 21...yeah, he probably should move up a level.

Yeah his age definitely played a factor, he also went to the Blackhawks development camp this summer and impressed from people I've talked who follow the Hawks closely.Flipper wrote:He's 23? I thought he was 21...yeah, he probably should move up a level.
As Berg said, we should come to expect this in the coming seasons as the program begins to draw in better recruits. BG hockey is getting noticed again and with that unfortunately comes losing guys early to the pros.
