GO FALCONS!
SWEEP THE SEAWOLVES!
"Regarding BGSU, I would think their biggest strength is that they never give up, They never slow down and they battle hard even after the other team scores. We have to be on our game and never, ever take the foot off the gas for a second."
~~USCHO Poster
"BG was relentless. It's like they know that a good first pass on the breakout from a defenseman will almost always result in an odd-man rush against them - but they go in anyway and dare you to make that pass. All three of their goals were just grit and effort. That's a team any fan can be proud to support...they give all they've got."

Does anyone know why this is a Saturday/Sunday series and why the start times are so early? Used to 11p start times when playing the Alaska's.

Well, clearly this is an afternoon game for the Alaskans. Probably easier on our guys. Looks like they will have similar start times in at least one other series, with Lake Superior State.

according to a UAA fan, today's day game is an effort to boost attendance by not competing with hallowe'en.
can't imagine afternoon games will help attendance, but they wanted it. they're having some sort of frightful festivities at the arena before today's game.

End of the 2nd period, and BG is down 4-1. 2nd period looked awful.

A 4-2 loss to Anchorage. Fricken Anchorage. This hasn't looked like a team motivated by 0.0002 or whatever it was last year. Bunch of bodies on the ice at this point.

Fitting Halloween-themed performance- our defense scares the crap out of me and UAA taking a penalty every 2 minutes is like not being able to wake up from a nightmare.

Been saying this for weeks, be ready to be scared for Christmas, New Years eve and Valentines Day because unless the offense gets come consistency its going to nail-biting defense all season.

Wondering about the leadership on this team too? Lost some key leaders from a year ago, nobody is taking the bull by the horns yet.

Up 2 - 0 in the 3rd.

2-0 final. Nell gets his second shutout of the season. Looked like a much better effort tonight.

We're 4-2-1, split in Alaska, and get our preseason Rookie of the Year back in four days.

Our only other loss was to a Western Michigan team that swept the #2 team in the nation this weekend.

Some people need to step away from the Kool-Aid this early in the season.

I will take a 4-2-1 record. The WMU game was on the road and as mentioned WMU been playing tough and just took out the #2 team in the nation. We spilt with AA and AA is 5-2 so that wasn't a bad loss either.

Eventually those 2 losses will more than likely help our Pairwise ranking. That's what you call good losses. We just need to keep from losing to bad teams and we will be fine. If we didn't have our successful season last year everyone would be extremely surprised by our start this year.

It's way too early to get nervous about anything, season is still very young and there are some things obviously being sorted out from both the players and coaches.

I still believe this team will win the WCHA this season and hit their stride the second half of the season.

It appears that Nell may be winning the goal tending battle. Although he started out hot last year, also, and then became somewhat inconsistent. If our defense continues to struggle it's conceivable that Berg may bring in one of the recruits for the second half.
