We need to harass FoxSportsNet Ohio!

Post by Bleeding Orange »

I just got done watching the Michigan vs. Western Michigan on FoxSportsNet (stupid Michigan!), and it was AWESOME to see college hockey on T.V., even if it was Michigan!

I propose that we start bombarding FSN with E-mails and even phone calls DEMANDING that they televise more college hockey! I talked about this a little bit tonight with Falcon Fanatic and The Freak, and it is ridiculous that, even with the NHL on lockout, FSN refuses to televise college hockey! I mean, seriously, who in the hell watches George Brett's Behind the Glory anyhow? I doubt they would even have to pay the CCHA, or any conference for that matter, very much as they are all, I'm sure, hungry for air-time. There are three Ohio DI college teams -- BG, OSU and Miami. You can't tell me that there is not a viewing audience out there. If FSN is REALLY Ohio's sports network, then they need to start acting like it!

I went to FSN Ohio's website and there is no contact info on there. Here's the link: http://www.fsnohio.com/cover.php

If someone can track down an E-mail address and phone number for their offices I think we can really get something going here. We can even get on Hawktalk.com and a couple of Buckeye boards and get them in on it, too!

Don't leave me flying solo on this one, people! Wouldn't it be awesome to be able to watch Falcon road games on TELEVISION?!?!?!

LET'S ROLL!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!

You make a good point. There needs to be more college hockey. Specially that BG is starting to show a pulse again.

I like George Brett, I wish I could of watched the Behind the Glory on him. He is my favorite ball player of all time. One of the few players anymore that stays his whole career in one city. Being a Royals fan, I never saw a more clutch of a hitterl

Well anyway more hockey needs to be shown on Fox Sports. Maybe Espn can pick up a game every now and then. I did enjoy their recent coverage of juniors though.

I'll look into as best I can! I couldn't believe when I opened my Akron Beacon Journal sports section on Sat morning and saw Mich at WMU listed for FSO!! Why aren't BG, OSU and Miami on Fox Sports OHIO???

Especially with the NHL lockout, college hockey should be on. Period.

GO ICERS!!! SWEEP NORTHERN MICHIGAN!!

For those of you with satellite, College Sports TV carries hockey quite often, along with the Fox Sports North (Minnesota), Fox Sports Detroit showed the GLI and has UM or MSU on a lot, and sometimes the one in the Chicago area (which has changed from Fox to Comcast) has it on.
Alos, ESPN will be starting their answer to CSTV on March 4th, so maybe they will cover it more.

Fox Ohio could fill in their Blue Jackets void with CCHA action instead of showing "Blue Jackets Classic games". I'm not sure how many "classic" games that franchise has played...

The CCHA is broadcast partners with only CSTV and FSN Detroit. As of now, I don't see any BG games going to be broadcast of CSTV. And there is only one BG game shown on FSN Detroit on Sat. Feb. 26 -- Bowling Green at Michigan State, 7:30 PM. Hopefully, a few BG games will be picked up along the way so us out-of-staters can see them in action a little more.

A gentleman over at the Hawktalk directed me here:

http://www.rainbow-media.com/rainbow/contact/index.jsp

Rainbow Media is the company that owns FSN, so write them a simple E-mail here, or give them a call if you are so inclined! I made sure to tell them that I am a BG fan, but I would appreciate seeing any college hockey at all this year if it is too late for them to set up telecast dates.

Get going! There are some people over at Hawktalk that are very excited about this. Don't let them out-do us! Make your voices heard!!!

My life is so empty without Hockey Night in Canada...

They just make everyone of their games a classic since they really don't have any.
